TradeMerit introduces multilanguage support for the ISF Premium service
The Importer Security Filing (ISF) required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security mandates that importers electronically provide 10 data elements 24 hours before loading cargo onto a U.S.-bound vessel. Ocean Carriers must then provide additional data; vessel stow plan (within 48 hrs of departure) and Container Status Message (within 24 hrs of creation or receipt of message). Failure to comply with this program will result in penalties and fines leading to longer lead times, and higher landed costs. As of January 26, 2010, CBP will begin to issue penalties of either $5,000 or $10,000 against importers who fail to comply with the ISF requirements.
Importers need the help of their suppliers, freight forwarders and other trading partners to comply with this new regulation. Hence multi-language support is needed.
"Multi language support is crucial for our clients. Our customers need to help their trading partners in different countries to participate with them to be compliant with the new US Importer security filings (ISF) that will start enforcement on January 26 2010" said Wael Aggan, TradeMerit CEO. "The ability for our clients to support end-users in their language of choice gives TradeMerit ISF a continued edge in today's global marketplace."
TradeMerit ISF Premium service allows Importers to automate the gathering of data from their suppliers and agents. Multi-language support further improves that collection process by allowing suppliers and agents in China, and other countries to interact with the system in their language of preference.
